About Steve

At five years old, Steve was already a storyteller, spinning bedtime tales for his toddler brother. Soon, he was hammering out stories on a typewriter and boldly submitting them to publishers – earning his first professional rejection (insect adventures down sewers, apparently unmarketable) and his first payment: a £5 book token.

From school productions to a career-launching international tour with the RSC, he honed his acting craft before an unexpected detour: mandatory French military service as a Tank Commander. Far from derailing his creative path, this experience forged something deeper – an understanding of leadership under pressure, and the raw human dynamics that emerge when everything's on the line. While pursuing an MA in Film and TV Production he suffered a nervous breakdown resulting in discovering his place on the Autism Spectrum, as well as an ADD diagnosis, which would ultimately reshape his creative destiny.

When he emerged as a writer, he brought something rare to the craft: an actor's instinct for authentic character voice, a military commander's grasp of strategy and human behaviour under extreme stress, and hard-won life experience that infuses every page with genuine emotional truth.

What sets this writer apart is his obsession with broken people barely clinging on, but then forced to go that extra mile to survive. He crafts well-researched historical fiction that excavates the human spirit under pressure – scripts set in the 12th, 15th, 17th and 20th Centuries where ordinary people face extraordinary circumstances. His military background gives him unique insight into how crisis reveals character, how leaders emerge from chaos, and how survival demands both individual resilience and collective action.

Competition wins, script options, three produced plays, and five-star reviews followed, culminating in Sir Michael Caine personally presenting him with a Best Writer award. Having worked onscreen and off with legends including Scorsese (HUGO), Nolan (INCEPTION, Eastwood (HEREAFTER), Scott (ROBIN HOOD) and Ritchie (A GAME OF SHADOWS), he understands every level of production
